Air Conditioning Repair And Services
An air conditioner is a complex piece of machinery that removes heat from indoor air and circulates cooled air throughout a room or the entire house. During hot weather, an air conditioner is essential to a household’s comfort. A home without AC at the height of summer can be a miserable place—even here in Western Washington.
But you don’t have to be uncomfortable for long when you call Hunt’s Services. Sometimes, a problem is as simple as clearing fallen leaves and debris from in front of the condenser unit to restore airflow. If your air conditioning is not blowing cold air, we may need to recharge the refrigerant if required and correct the thermostat settings.
A faulty thermostat can make the air conditioner cycle too often or not run at all. We can also balance the duct system if the AC cools rooms unevenly. Once an air conditioning unit or HVAC system is installed, it’s crucial to keep it well-maintained. A poorly maintained AC unit—whether central or room—simply won’t perform well. That means it won’t cool to your satisfaction and will cost more in energy bills.
A faulty air conditioning system can have many causes and symptoms besides the obvious issue of not producing cold air. Some causes are related to the electrical system, others to the refrigerant circuit, and still others are mechanical. When it comes to AC repairs, our certified technicians provide a proper diagnosis so you don’t pay more than necessary to fix your air conditioner. We proudly serve neighborhoods across Central Tacoma, New Tacoma, Nalley Valley, South End, Delong Park, St. Helens, McKinley Hill, North Slope, Crescent Heights, Larchmont, Edison, and Highlands.

Air Conditioner Noises in Pierce County
One of the main symptoms of a poorly functioning air conditioner is a squeaking or grinding sound. If you hear one of these noises, make sure you contact Hunt’s Services right away to get to the bottom of the issue because the longer you wait, the more damage can be done and the higher the expense.
These noises typically mean that a belt has slipped and is no longer in the right place. To fix this issue, we’ll have to either reinstall the belt or, more commonly, replace the belt entirely.
Some air conditioner components require lubrication, as well, so the sound you’re hearing could be these pieces rubbing together. While this isn’t a major repair, it is something you’ll want to have dealt with right away because the friction could cause the parts to deteriorate.
There is also the chance that one of the bearings in the motor has broken, causing its components to rub together. Whatever is causing the issue, it’s nice to know that we can handle the repair quickly and hopefully solve the problem before permanent damage is done.
